Corinna Proctor

Senior Human Factors Specialist

Bio

Corinna is a Senior Human Factors Specialist and project lead at HumanCentric. Her experience includes conducting general GUI heuristic analyses, defining optimal workflow designs for sites or software, conducting large-scale, comparative usability studies, ergonomic seat-comfort studies, and 'in-situ' observational design research techniques. Her strength is in identifying the needs of a user and infusing those needs into the design of a soft or hard interface. Her main interests are in the automotive infotainment domain where busy drivers interface with increasingly complex devices and the medical device design domain where increasing patient safety and decreasing care-giver error are of the utmost importance. The overarching goal in her work is to better understand user perceptions, experiences, and needs while interfacing with any tech-heavy product, website, or application and to design solutions that improve that experience. She has worked for clients such as DaimlerChrysler, Sony Ericsson, Abbott Labs, Cisco Systems, Tyco / ADT, The FAA, and Cathay Pacific Airlines.

Corinna holds a Master's of Science in Human Factors and Experimental Psychology from North Carolina State University and is all-but-dissertation for a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology. She is a member of the national Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), ACM's Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI) and the Usability Professionals' Association (UPA).
