Dana Dorroh

Bio

After graduating from college, Ms. Dorroh's professional career started as a Human Factors & Graphics Specialist for an engineering consulting firm servicing the nuclear power industry. Always driven to own her own company, Ms. Dorroh started her own business in 1987 specializing in CAD drafting, training, and hardware & software sales. In the early 90's, Ms. Dorroh's company, CAD plus, merged with a reprographics company called Plain Paper Solutions. Over the next seven (7) years, Ms. Dorroh and her partners grew CAD plus/Plain Paper Solutions to one of the largest, most successful, women-owned businesses in North Carolina. Along the way, Ms. Dorroh and her partners purchased local competitors, launched branch locations, and started new businesses within the Carolinas and along the East Coast. In 1997, IKON acquired two (2) companies owned by Ms. Dorroh and her partners. After the acquisition by IKON, Ms. Dorroh was a General Manager for IKON Office Solutions and continued to run that operation until resigning from IKON in December of 2000.

With a 20+ year career in sales, marketing, and operations, Ms. Dorroh has worked as a consultant to HumanCentric since 2001. Joining the HumanCentric Board of Advisors in 2003 and then becoming an equity partner in 2007, Ms. Dorroh's key responsibilities with HumanCentric include business and corporate development as well as investigation and promotion of new ventures. On a day-to-day basis, Dana is the Managing Partner of a sister-company called One Source, a professional recruiting company working exclusively with architects, engineers, and designers.

In addition to Ms. Dorroh's work with One Source and HumanCentric, she has incubated, invested-in and mentored multiple start-up companies over the last 10 years including Peakton Digital Media, The News Desk, Triangle Tech Ads, HumanCentric Health, and Nurturing Self.

Ms. Dorroh's business and corporate development accomplishments with her ventures include the following milestones:

Ms. Dorroh's community efforts include actively serving on the Board of Directors for The Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, receiving the Chairman's Outstanding Service Award in 2002. Serving as Board Chair in 2005 to 2006, Ms. Dorroh continues to be a voice for the profoundly disabled. Other current philanthropic activities include co-founding Legacy of Joy in honor, celebration, and memory of her mother, Rebecca Joy Tabor Dorroh, who battled cancer in 2007.

Ms. Dorroh holds a B.S. in Engineering from Mississippi State University.
