HumanCentric worked with scientists and engineers to help consolidate a break-through technology for Amersham Health. The HumanCentric team consisted of industrial designers, graphic designers, human factors specialists, and mechanical engineers and were, faced with the challenge of repackaging a sophisticated piece of medical equipment into an approachable and compact footprint.
The design challenge was to arrange the internal components so that the machine's internal processes were unobstructed. This required HumanCentric to create various models and component layouts to achieve the small footprint. HumanCentric helped to redesign the graphical user interface so that it was clean, elegant, and easy to use. The result was a compact solution which had designed internal components that were easy to access and an interface that was easy to use.
